In preparation for her new role in the Hou Hsiao-xien produced movie, <The 36th Story>, Kwai Lun-mei specially took up lessons in pastry-making and coffee brewing. Due to her especially high self-demands, her products were almost identical to those sold outside, and even the pastry chef complimented her, saying she could set up a shop on her own, leading to Kwai Lun-mei smiling in delight.

Sponsored by the Taiwan Board of Tourism and Broadcasting, <The 36th Story> is directed by Hsiao Ya-quen, who plans to showcase the true side of Taipei, thus attracting more tourists to explore the real beauty of it all. The narrative goes that Chang Han, who plays the role of a coffee shop customer, tells Kwai Lun-mei, the coffee shop owner, 35 different stories about different cities around the world, but the 36th story, he wishes for it to be completed with her and in Taipei itself.

Kwai Lun-mei, who has recently been rumoured to be dating Chen Bo-lin, was not affected by the rumours at all, filming smoothly as always. She showed off her masterpiece, ‘Pineapple with Pink Pepper Jam’ yesterday, and everyone who tasted it all said it was unique with its sweet-yet-tasty flavour.

When told so, she hastily shook her head and modestly said that her sister in the movie, Lin Chen-hsi, was much better at this than she was.
