Big Bang DaeSung has picked youngest member Kang Ji Yeong out of the 5 KARA members as the best ‘Pretty Girl’

DaeSung was recently on MBC Cable ‘Idol Show’ which KARA are the MCs to and was asked to pick out the best ‘Pretty Girl’ amongst the members.

In order to become DaeSung’s ‘Pretty Girl’, the KARA members each performed their hidden talents on the show. KARA leader GyuRi then instantly broke into a song showing her vocal powers in front of DaeSung. Kang Ji Yeong who is known to be DaeSung’s fan, also sang a song in front of DaeSung.

And DaeSung picked Kang Ji Yeong in the end. This episode will air on the 9th.

Group Big Bang will have a honey sweet vacation in the month of May.

YG president Yang Hyun Seok revealed that some time should be need for the members to recharge and hence for the whole of May, there will be no activities scheduled for the group.

Yang said in a phone interview, “Since their debut in 2006, Big Bang has not got the chance to rest properly. To make sure that they can make the best out of their Japanese promotions, they will have the whole of May to rest.”

Big Bang recently ended their promotion for their 3rd album title song ‘Sunset Glow’ last year. And right after that, member SeungRi into his solo promotion of the song ‘Strong Baby’ and the rest of the members did CF shooting and also did recording and working for their own music. All busy in ‘unseen places’. Also they will be staying in Japan and busy for their promotion in the months of June and July and recently they are also preparing for that.

Members DaeSung and SeungRi has already ended their MC taskes on MBC Music Core on 28th March for the vacation. But for DaeSung who has to be on SBS variety show ‘Family Outing’ and TOP who is doing filming for drama ‘IRIS’, the members will not be running for any promotions activities for that month.

This will be their first vacation or rather ‘recharging period’ for Big Bang in 3 years since their debut. Also for member GDragon, who is known to be the fashion icon, will also spend the time in May to go on a Europe vacation to study fashion. While TaeYang and SeungRi will study on dancing from famous dance choreographer in America.

YG clears up about the matter of ‘female Big Bang‘ group 21 having the same name as another singer.

YG said, “It is such a shame that we didn’t thought of a singer with the same name. Even though we do not have any plans to change their name, we have plans to change the English name of ‘To Anyone (투애니원)’.”

“Though they have the same name, the meaning to the names are different. Hence we hope that fans will not misunderstand. Please continue to support the group.”

Meanwhile, 4-member group 21 prepares to debut in May

‘Female Big Bang‘ will debut and make their scene in the Kpop zone in May.

With their name not officially known to have decided, the group was called the ‘female Big Bang‘ by netizens.

YG Entertainment said,”We had plans for YG’s new female group to debut in April. Much effort has been put into the selection of songs etc hence the earliest that fans can meet with this group will be in May.”

“Right now, they have completed about 10 songs. We have also in mind what the title song will be out of the 10 songs. But until their debut in May, we will collect more songs for the album.”

The YG representative also added, “They will release singles and minialbums and will continue to be active all the way to year-end. There is a possibility they will release a digital single every month.”

Forbes Korea released the results of ‘Korea Power Celebrities’ on 25th February in commemoration of their 6th anniversary.

‘Korea Power Celebrities’ selects 40 individuals/groups from the fields of acting, singing, CF modelling, sports etc looking at their popularity, income and influence etc.

And 5-member group Big Bang, who roped in a total of 35 billion KRW of income on album sales and concert sales, is listed at #2 position on the chart after Kim Yeoh Ah. And also girl group WonderGirls, who brought us many smash hits after smash hits like ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Nobody’ is at #3 on the chart.

Big Bang wants to be pretty girls? Not quite, but they can be pretty for a day. Big Bang is scheduled to perform a Special Stage performance with KARA on December 26th’s Music Bank Christmas Special. KARA plus Big Bang or KARA Bang for short are scheduled to perform “Pretty Girl,” “Sunset Glow,” and some Christmas Carols.

Big Bang seems to be showing signs of success with their activities in Japan.

They, who recently had their ‘Stand Up Tour’ in Osaka on 28th October, have also been receiving a lot of attention and interests from the Japanese media.

They have a tight schedule promoting in Japan, which includes appearing on TV programs on NHK and Fuji TV etc as guests together with some of Japan’s top stars and also doing interviews. Famous media and newspapers have also done interviews and articles on Big Bang.

Big Bang, following the footsteps of groups like Dong Bang Shin Ki and SS501 who have also advanced and did well in Japan, has received a lot of attention from the Japanese media regarding whether they will succeed like the previous Korean boy bands.

Not long ago, Big Bang was also hailed as ‘Korea’s EXILE’ by one of the Japanese newspaper.

Som Japanese reporters and media representatives recently visited Korea, and when asked about Big Bang they said, “They seem to be doing very well with their first official album released in Japan”.

They also said, “For those who are interested with HanRyu (Korean Wave) will know Big Bang well in Japan. Big Bang is seemed as a singing group who have their charms and their unique music styles. There is quite a mania for them here in Japan.”

“Even though they are quite successful in Japan, there are still much for them to do. Big Bang’s music style and trend is still quite distance from that of the masses in Japan. Also, Big Bang seemed to be more concentrated in promoting in Korea than in Japan, hence there is a limit to what they can achieve in Japan.”

Meanwhile, Big Bang will be holding more concert performances on 29th in Nagoya and on 1st November in Tokyo. After which, they will release their 2nd Korean official album in beginning of November.
