The five members of SS501 are back together to launch their activities in Japan.

Until recently, the members had been busy with their separate activities: Kim Hyun-joong was filming “Boys Over Flowers,” Park Jung-min was appearing in the musical “Grease,” and Kim Hyung-jun, Kim Kyu-jong and Heo Young-saeng performed under the name “Triple S.”

SS501’s second Japanese album, which is slated for release on May 13 and entitled “All My Love,” shows off a more mature side of the members’ vocal skills.

All 13 songs included in the album are performed in Japanese. The new album contains a song that sends a message of hope to a loved one; the ballad “Mermaid,” performed by Park Jung-min; the single “Lucky Days,” which entered the Oricon weekly chart last year, and “Get Along,” which was strongly recommended by the CEO of SS501’s agency, DSP Media.

The title track, “All My Love,” had drawn the spotlight even before the album’s release because it is SS501’s first a capella song. Park Jung-min said he and his band mates doubted their ability to perform the song when they first heard about it, but at the same time they believed they had to try it. Kim Hyung-jun, the leader of SS501, said the group practiced hard to perfectly convey the warmth of the song.

On May 17, SS501 will hold a handshaking event for its fans at the TFT Hall in Tokyo to mark the release of its new album and arouse interest in it.

On August 13, the group will hold two concerts at the Budokan Hall for the first time as part of its Asian concert tour.

‘SS501’s Music High’ Starts on 14-Apr.

Group SS501’s magnae Kim HyungJoon has been selected as a radio DJ.

Kim HyungJoon has been chosen as a sole DJ for SBS Power FM (107.7Mhz) following their Spring reorganization. Though Kim HyungJoon has done ad-hoc DJ in various radio programs before, this would be his first time being selected as a sole DJ (meaning, hosting the program by himself).

SS501’s company explained “The program title is named as SS501, however the program will be hosted by Kim HyungJoon alone. Kim HyungJoon also felt a sense of responsibility due to the usage of his own group name.”

SS501’s Heo YoungSaeng and Park JungMin had been DJ for SBS Power FM <YoungStreet> in 2006. They had received full support from teenager listeners. Kim HyungJoon will host the 1-hour program from 2am to 3am and would appeal to young listeners.

Kim HyungJoon’s program will have its first broadcast on 14-Apr.

It seems that SS501 will move into the plans of advancing into the American market with great cautions.

SS501 members Kim Kyu Jong and Heo Yeong Saeng recently took part in a concert performance and for an interview in LA. There they met up with famous producers Andrew Lane and Steven Lee on 21st March and discussed about music and advancing into the American market.

A DSP representative said, “When we were working on the album ‘U R Man’, we have also received some songs from Andrew Lane. Through this, we get to meet these people in America.”

“We did have talks about advancement into the American market. We do have plans on an American market advancement but we have yet to have solid plans laid down.”

SS501 will be releasing a special album in May and in summer they will release a new album.

With all its 5 members gathered together again, SS501 will release a Japanese album in May and promote in Japan for about a month.

DSP Media announced, “After the filming for the drama ends, they will rest in April. They will release a Japanese album in May and promote in Japan for about a month’s time.” The last time SS501 were in Japan was last year for their fanmeeting.

Meanwhile, SS501 will release an album with the collection of different members’ songs in April but they will not promote for the album.

Kamio Yoko, the manga-ka (manga writer-artist) who started it all in 1992 with the incredibly popular manga series Hana Yori Dango, has recently come to Korea to meet with the cast and production crew behind the latest adaptation, KBS kdrama series Boys Before Flowers.

She was actually an unannounced attendee at the recent production press conference on the 22nd, but the news is just being released now; they’d kept it quiet (perhaps to keep expectations from shooting even higher than they already are? If so, somebody needs to revisit the meaning of the word “quiet”).

Kamio drew a sketch of the current cast (Gu Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon) on the spot and even told SS501 singer Kim Hyun-joong (in the Rui role) that she’d seen him when he was promoting his singing career in Japan. She also marveled at how closely the Korean cast resembled the characters she’d created.

She said, “It’s an honor to have Hana Yori Dango produced as a Korean drama too.. I hope Korean viewers will enjoy it.”

Boys Before Flowers premieres next Monday.

Male group SS501 becomes ‘Santa Love’.

The members recently paid a visit to a nursery in Seoul and spent an enjoyable time with the students there. SS501’s company DSP Entertainment representative said “Representing singers, they spent some time with these unfortunate friends. They spent their time making food together and eating and singing with these kids. Because the members like these kids, they continued to interact with each other.”

This meeting will be broadcasted on the 16th through MBC Love Neighbor Special Live Broadcast “Donation Angel, That Person Has Come”. SS501 will still participate for Love Neighbor next week. They will visit another nursery through cable channel MBC DRAMANET ‘God Of Cookery Expedition’. Heo YoungSaeng and Kim HyungJoon will also appear for this program as member Kim KyuJong is the MC for it.

SS501 members who have been extremely busy pursuing acting, musicals and a terrible 3 man boy band, will be once again taking the stage together in Tokyo, Japan on the 17th.

DSP Entertainment stated:
“SS501 will be spending the end of the year with their Japanese fans. It’s been a very long time and very difficult to see their faces as they have all been busy pursuing their own careers, but they will finally come together again on stage and put on a charismatic performance.”

Heo YoungSaeng, Kim KyuJong and Kim HyungJoon debuts again with an album called “Ur Man” which will be released tomorrow (November 21) with their title song “Ur Man” the teaser for the song has just been released 2 days ago in Korea showing the change of image for the boys. The other 2 members of the group won’t be joining in, because of HyunJoong leader’s drama – “Boys Over Flowers” (hana yori dango) and JungMin’s musical – “Grease.”

They’ll be sticking with their name “SS501″ and not anymore “Triple S.”

Their activities will start on November 21, and catch them on Music Core on the 22nd and on Inkigayo at the 23rd, they’ll also be in Star Golden Bell with the Wonder Girls this weekend.

In an interview with Newsen Park Jungmin said, that his previous figure is too heavy for Danny’s role and in order to perform perfectly in the musical role he needed to reduce another 7 Kg in order to meets Danny’s figure.The previous Park Jungmin was weighed about 72kg.
