Park Jin Young must be a marketing genius. Photos followed by a teaser video were released in quick succession yesterday of the Wonder Girls in slim leather costumes. But minimal details were revealed with fans trying to second-guess what it was for. Some said it was for a music video while other claim it might be for a commercial.

The guessing game is over now though. The Wonder Girls who are models for KTF will be turning themselves into Fin.K.L and do a remake of their famous hit Now. This is not new as idol groups like Big Bang and Girls’ Generation have remade Lee Moon Sae’s Red Sunset and Lee Seung Chul’s Girl’s Generation respectively in recent times. The remake of Now is expected to be something worth looking forward to as it has been created with the Wonder Girls style in mind, new dance chereography and the addition of Yoo Bin rapping.

The CF will be tied in conjunction with promoting KTF Ever new mobilephone called the X-Slim Phone which is extremely slim (less than 1cm thick) like what it’s name suggest. This will explain the slim leather outfits that the Wonder Girls were wearing for the CF. I am not really fond of KTF CFs because the last one that the Wonder Girls did was quite average while Park Min Young also did a couple for them which was average as well. Maybe it will be different this time but LG Cyon and Samsung AnyCall seems to have better CFs.

The KTF X-Slim CF featuring the Wonder Girls will be released on 4th April.

After their concert performances in Thailand Bangkok, America (LA, Orange County, New York), WonderGirls have finally come to have their first concert performance in Korea Busan on 21st March.

This is their first solo concert since their debut in 2007 with ‘Irony’. The tickets were sold out in 30 minutes after reservation sales opened.

With their first Korean concert performance opening tonight, WonderGirls, “We are so nervous about holding our first solo concert in our homeland where we have fans who love us and supports us more than any one else. We will work hard to make this a grand finale for our first concert in Korea.”

Their Busan concert will take place on 21st March in KBS Hall and 28th March in Seoul Olympic Park Hall.

There are plans for one of the WonderGirls member to star in the MV of the title song off group 8ight’s 3rd album.

8ight’s producer have met up with Park Ji Young lately for 8ight’s 3rd album, and Park Jin Young had recommended that one of the WonderGirls members be featured in the MV after listening to the song.

Park Jin Young said, “It has been long since I have put a song on repeat for more than 10 times. It is a song that you will not get sick of even if you listen to it for 24 hours.”

8ight’s leader Lee Hyun said, “It is our honor that Park Jin Young liks the title song of our 3rd album. And it is our dream to have WonderGirls star in our MV.”

Meanwhile, 8ight’s 3rd album ‘The Golden Age’ will be released on the 10th.

Forbes Korea released the results of ‘Korea Power Celebrities’ on 25th February in commemoration of their 6th anniversary.

‘Korea Power Celebrities’ selects 40 individuals/groups from the fields of acting, singing, CF modelling, sports etc looking at their popularity, income and influence etc.

And group Big Bang and WonderGirls are #2 and #3 on the chart respectively.

And the title of ‘Korea’s Best Star’ goes to ‘fairy on ice’ ice skater Kim Yeon Ah.

The standards used in ‘Korea’s Power Celebrities’ are the same of that used in Forbes America’s ‘Power Celebrity 100′.

Kim Yeon Ah emerged as ‘Korea’s Best Star’ after winning 2nd on influence on media appearance, 1st on professionalism, 3rd for popularity on internet search and appearance on broadcast programs and 12th on income.

And 5-member group Big Bang, who roped in a total of 35 billion KRW of income on album sales and concert sales, is listed at #2 position on the chart after Kim Yeoh Ah. And also girl group WonderGirls, who brought us many smash hits after smash hits like ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Nobody’ is at #3 on the chart.

News came late that group WonderGirls had actually left Korea for America on 31st January.

It has been revealed that there are plans for WonderGirls to advance into the American market. During their stay there, the girls will go interviews to get a feel to the American media market and will start preparing for their advance.

A JYP representative said, “WonderGirls will study English there and also prepare for their upcoming plans for them. They will return to Korea, but no plans on when that will be.”

For the first half of this year, they will be performing and active outside Korea in countries like Thailand Bangkok, America LA, New York etc.

The program listing for the 2008 KBS Gayo Daejun is out and the Wonder Girls are going to be in quite a few performance items.

The Wonder Girls will be out with Big Bang for the opening line dance.

In a performance titled Diva Show, the Wonder Girls will be performing Destiny’s Childs Survivor. Son Dambi and After School will be doing Lose My Breath, Seo In Young and Ha Joo Yeon (Jewerly) will be performing Bottle Pop and 4 Minutes (Madonna). The Wonder Girls, Son Dambi, After School, Seo In Young and Ha Joo Yeon will then finish the program with a outro.

That will be part 1 of the show. The following is part 2.

The Wonder Girls will then be performing Nobody again, I think normal version. Then there will be a special Mama Mia musical stage involving the 2 members of Wonder Girls. Sun Ye and Ye Eun will perform Honey, Honey. This will be followed by Park Jung Ah, Baek Ji Young, Jang Yoon Jung, Kim Jong Kook, Kim Jin Ho, Dae Sung performing Mama Mia. Then everyone that has performed in this item will come together and perform Dancing Queen and Waterloo.

At the end, Wonder Girls will perform Flying Into The Deep Blue Night with Park Jung Ah. During Sunset Glow with Lee Moon Sae and Big Bang, all performers including the Wonder Girls will join in to close out the night.

Unconfirmed, WonderBang might perform Haru Haru and Nobody.

The 29th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony will be held at 7.25pm on the 20th of November at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. Korea’s red hot bands Dong Bang Shin Ki, Wonder Girls and Rain, etc have been invited to participate in this year’s awards ceremony and will be perfoming their songs on stage.

Rain will be singing a song from his new album ‘내 여자 (My Girl)’, and it will be the 1st time that he is perfoming it. ‘내 여자 (My Girl)’ was self compsed by Rain himself, the lyrics were specially written by him too, just for his fans.

Rain’s self-owned company J. Tune Entertainment (formerly known as Rainy Entertainment) announced that it will be the 1st time that Rain will be making public his performance for the new song ‘내 여자 (My Girl)’. Rain is in the midst of practising very hard as this awards ceremony is of great importance.

Other than Dong Bang Shin Ki, Wonder Girls Rain, etc, Fin.K.L’s 옥주현(Oak Joo Hyun) and UN’s 최정원(Choi Jung Won) will also be gracing this event.

The Wonder Girls will be on this week’s Star Golden Bell to be broadcast on Nov. 22 (Sat) at 5:20 PM. Here are the news spoilers:

1. SunYe was congratulation on her recent admittance to DongGuk University. At the question ‘What things she would like to try?’, she replied, “I want to take classes with friends and while walking leisurely around campus I want to chatter. I also want to try going to the library and studying.”

2. SoHee was asked what is the thing she is most envious when it comes to university-bound SunYe. “I’m envious about the whole going to university thing. I also want to go a university and try club activities, and also I want to sit on a bench studying like what they do in movies. Also I want to try meetings.” (FYI: meetings are group set-up dates; sometime a group blind date)

3. SunYe was a fan of idol girl groups when she was younger. “When I was an elementary school student, I really liked SES and Finkl, so I made a dance club with my friends,” shared the leader of the Wonder Girls. “At my friend’s house we would practice dancing and at excursions or festivals we would perform.”

4. As was previously revealed on “Come To Play”, YooBin “liked Sechs Kies’s Eun JiWon.” In the SGB broadcast, she further explained how much, “At that time I would not just check his schedule, but I also went to see Eun JiWon in his leading-role movie ‘Seventeen’ multiple times.” Coincidently, Eun JiWon was filming with them that day and said some grateful words to his fan, “Thank you very much. Now instead I am the fan.”

Wonder Girls will be doing “Nobody” activities until the end of this year to close out.

They are now doing “Nobody Remix” version activities. Because of the “Nobody” craze, it has already won on online and offline charts, cable charts, and programs. Wonder Girls plans to continue promoting “Nobody” until the end of the year.

Wonder Girls’ JYP Entertainment agent said on November 10, “They will continue ‘Nobody’ activities until the end of November,” and “Starting in December until the end of the year they will focus on awards and other various events.” Also, “We received a good response on the remix version from the fans.”
